Curly quotes and special characters mangled

Hi there, I'm currently using PrintFriendly for a client site, but it's showing curly quotation marks as weird characters like "’". Example: http://www.printfriendly.com/print?url=http://post45.research.yale.edu/2012/12/18/cluster-introduction-patricia-highsmith/?all=1 Any idea how to fix this? Thanks!

It doesn't work on some websites

I installed the PrintFriendly PDF extension for chrome, and I've noticed that it doesn't work on some websites, e.g. http://ndpr.nd.edu/news/33607-physics-mathematics-and-skepticism/ Thanks for the tool, and I hope you will fix it for these sites.

Chrome Extension and HTTPS

I found an answer for printing a HTTPS page here: http://support.printfriendly.com/customer/portal/questions/252991-print-friendly-plugin-not-working-on-pages-using-https And I can use the bookmarklet perfectly now. But my question is I have the official Chrome Extension and it will not print from an HTTPS page. The final answer seems to indicate that the problem with the button is solved, but I believe that it might refer to the web button you can put on the page. I'm asking specifically about Chrome's Extension. I hope that the Chrome Extension/Plugin can be updated to add this functionality!

NYTImes "print mode"

Did anything change on the Printfriendly end in the last few days? I used to take multipage NYTimes articles and select their "Print" function to get to a single page that I then would PDF with printfriendly. Now, when I get a page like this - http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/27/nyregion/the-doomsday-preppers-of-new-york.html?pagewanted=print- and then hit the PF icon, I get PF wanting to render just the first page of the original article, just the same as if I had hit PF on the first page of the article. My environment is Windows 7 with Google Chrome Version 25.0.1364.45 (beta track). Incidentally, I did try to paste the URL above into the "enter a URL" box on the Printfriendly.com frontpage and got the same results, so I am not sure if there was a subtle change in the PF logic or perhaps NYTimes changed something on their end. Anyone else seeing this or something similar?

Printing pages constructed with frames

On sites constructed with frames in a frameset, clicking the Print Friendly button shows the browser (Firefox 18.0.1 or IE 9.0) doing nothing significant, without even an error message. Pasting the URL into the box on the printfriendly.com home page results in the following message Unable to parse the content from URL •Failed to parse the requested page •Get it fixed! Send the URL to Print Friendly Any chance of a fix? The frame structure is retained to enable old browsers in other parts of the world to still use the sites.

How to install PrintFriendly Button in Windows 8? It is a piece of cake to install it in Windows 7. However, it seems that the only way to get PrintFriendly ready for use is to Pin it. What are the possibilities in Windows 8?

Removing page breaks

I see a lot about forcing page breaks, but how do I remove page breaks altogether? I'm not printing out hard copies, so page breaks are just an unnecessary nuisance that screw up the formatting on web pages I'm trying to save.

After working fine Print Friendly stopped working properly a few days ago. The webpage opens properly in the Print Friedly screen but then will not produce a pdf although the "clock" like icon rotates. The only change made was an update to Java to Java 11. Might this be the problem?

font size

Hi, May I suggest that more intermediate steps in choosing a font size will be offered than the 10% steps? Occasionally there are printouts with multiple pages where on the last page there is still only one line to be printed. If the font size could for example set in 5% increments, and not only in 10% increments, one could optimize the output better in such a way that the last page could be avoided. Alternatively, you may consider to offer a input field in which the user enters the desired % value itself. Would that be an idea that could also be useful to others? Otherwise, great product. Keep it up! Markus

PDF is not generated

The ability to generate a PDF is spiradic. Sometimes a PDF is generated and other times it is not. Sometimes when it is not generated I can go back to the same website and there is no problem. The program was working flawlessly for a long time until about a month or so ago when this problem popped up.

Page Size

Hi, I have two suggestions: 1. I, and from searching on the net gathered also others, would like to be able to grab a web-page without having to choose a page size - just grab the page as long as it is and capture it in in a file for documentation/reference. This would be great I think. 2. When I choose a page-size and print/save it - most of the time topics are split across the pages. It would be great to see a preview of the boundaries of the page and at the same time be able to decide where the page-breaks are going to be. This makes it possible to start a topic from which for instance only the head is on page 1 as a whole on page 2. Thanks in advance for your attention, Mike

FONT used in PF

I have been very satisfied using PRINTFRIENDLY ... except that it uses a typefont that I didn't like. In fact, I think it's a font that I never use myself. The kerning and readibility is inferior with this font. How can I change the font used in PF printing? (I use it in Chrome on a Windows7 platform). PS: If you want to add bells and whistles, I suggest some intermediate choices for the size of printing. For example, I now get a range of choices at 100%, 90%, 80%, 70% etc., and it would be nice, in many instances, to have 95%, 85%, 75%.

I was using your button successfully until just recently. Firefox has been updating on a regular basis. I am now on version 20.0. Do you know if anything happened in the last release to affect your program?

No longer downloads the pdf it claims to have generated

I'm using Chrome, and your site has always worked really well for me in the past (kudos on that, by the way!) but for some some time now my computer hangs up "waiting for reply" from your site when I click "Download." Everything seems fine in communicating with your site until that point: PrintFriendly lets me go through deleting all that tree-murdering, unnecessary stuff from my pdf with no problem, and it at least thinks it has generated my pdf, because it presents me with the "Download" button. I click "Download" and my computer says it's waiting... and waiting... and waiting... for your site to reply - but the download never comes. Repeat clicking does not help. Can you? Thanks!

Not showing MOST images

Hi, I use Firefox and Chrome, and I have the same problem in both browsers. Some pics show and most others don't. And it worked perfectly until a month or two ago. I've tried disabling all extras. I tried everything I could think of, and there was no change. For instance, this one http://www.countryliving.com/crafts/projects/green-crafts-0309#slide-1 which is a shame because only with Print friendly I don't need to change the address of the page to http://www.countryliving.com/print-this/green-crafts-0309?page=all to see all the slides together. And yes, I tried even changing the address and most of th pics still don't show. I read another post with a similar problem (no pics were showing) and the answer to her was those sites put the images in a gallery. Is it the same thing here? Thanks!
